Born in Fayetteville, NC at Fort Bragg, Roy graduated from Johnson C. Smith University. She has been with the Charlotte Fire Department since September of 2009, having served at Stations 40 and 28 as a Firefighter, then Station 22 as an Engineer.

Captain Hood, a Charlotte native is a graduate of Fayetteville State University and member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.. He has been with the Charlotte Fire Department since September of 2015, having served at Stations 40, 35, and 27. Hood has progressed through the ranks, starting as a firefighter and becoming an Engineer in 2023.
